Do your kids give you a hard time about dishes? Do you hate them? Maybe everyone needs a new perspective. When we were young my Grandma had this saying in her kitchen right over her sink. She would always remind us that doing dishes was a privilege that not everyone in the world had. Did it make me love them, NO, but it did give me a little bit of perspective. As an adult with kids I have often found myself repeating this to my kids in an effort to help them have the same perspective.
I also hope that someday my kids will look back on the moments in the kitchen and remember that it wasn't about the dishes, it was about the experience and memories made around those dishes.
